I learned of the Sutter Buttes, the world's smallest mountain range, in a California geology course in West Valley College's Park Management program.

It's too bad California State Parks hasn't opened their Sierra Buttes land as a park yet - or maybe that's a good thing, to keep the cultural artifacts and wildlife undisturbed. It's a tough balancing act between maintaining the resource unimpaired and allowing the enjoyment of this and future generations.

Mark Bohrer
www.activelightphotography.comlecyclistehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00656709161536831822noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2753702607087879276.post-40032392817676987592012-05-21T20:06:55.244-07:002012-05-21T20:06:55.244-07:00Thanks for your post and photographs of a beautifu...Thanks for your post and photographs of a beautiful area. With budget shortfalls, it may be awhile.

Thanks for the pictures and account of what looks like a beautiful area. Neat cultural resources too, with the well-preserved grinding rocks.

Maybe it's just as well that it remains closed!

Mark Bohrer
Photography and wildlife research
www.activelightphotography.comlecyclistehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00656709161536831822noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2753702607087879276.post-40885015031133940972010-04-04T13:17:40.290-07:002010-04-04T13:17:40.290-07:00Asolutely beautiful..
